    Corvette trailer question

I AM PUTTING A WINCH IN MY ENCLOSED TRAILER SO I CAN "DRAG" THE VETTE INTO POSITION. WHEN I HAD THE COBRA I COULD JUST DRIVE IT IN AND HOP IN AND OUT, BUT I CAN'T DO THAT WITH THE VETTE.
MY QUESTION IS ABOUT THE WINCH WIRING. I PUT THE BATTERY TO OPERATE THE WINCH BY THE CONTROLLER AND WANT IT TO CHARGE WHILE THE TRAILER IS HOOKED TO THE TRUCK. IF I JUST TAP INTO THE MAIN POWER FROM THE TRUCK, WILL IT CHARGE THE BATTERY ??

    Re: Corvette trailer question

Mine does. Powers the whole trailer, lights, winch, alarm. Been that way two years. Once, the truck had to charge a fully discharged trailer battery while I drove. Did fine.

An alarm installer hooked it up, though, so I can't tell you the exact wiring scheme.

Before you do it, you might want to wait for a comment from someone who knows something about auto electric systems

If your truck came with a tow package, chances are there is a battery charge wire in the harness. I cannot remember which makes you have to add a fuse or jumper wire to so that it will work. I will look tomorrow.

My tow truck is a GMC Vortex Max with a full towing package.

Here is a wiring diagram to hook up all wiring including the brakes to your new battery.
I added a light on the front of the trailer near the hitch to indicate that the breakaway switch is operational when the plunger has been pulled out.
I eliminated the small battery that came with the trailer for the brake system emergency activation.
