    Help With Rivet Size

I need a favor. I am looking at a 63 for a friend. I have a 63, so I am familiar with them for the most part.

The car looks pretty good with the exception of one thing. For some reason the rivets that are holding the trim tag on look a little off.
I cannot put my finger on it and I do not have any pictures of trim tags with me. I looked on the NET, but it is not quite giving me what i need.

If one of you has the time, could you measure the width and height of the rivet that holds the trim tag on. The width is easy, but the height from the trim tag to the top of the rivet might be a little more difficult. We will be here until tomorrow.

I tried to take pictures of it and post it, but the seller does not want pictures of his tag out there. I can understand that.

So, if one of you guy wants to go out on a limb and save me another six hour trip, it would be greatly appreciated. I am not sure if anything has been done at all with the exception of the whole tag being polished. Why it was polished, who knows. but these are sometimes the things that throw up the red flags.

It is a November built coupe set-up like a 340 HP w/P.S., but the block and everything else points to a "RF" code. "F1029RF" "J 25 2"

Polished would be enough to scare me off.

When I say polished, it just looks like someone had a rag with a little compound on it and wiped it back and fourth a handful of times. It is not like it is really polished. I wish he would allow me to take a few pictures.
Like maybe a car detailer might have done it not knowing it is not a good thing to do.
Everything seems correct about the car. The body number is in sequence along with everything else being very original. It is pretty much an unmolested car other than the carb change.
There are no spin makes on the trim tag like you see on ones that have been drilled out. The wear patterns around the two tags looks correct.
It just seems like the different color, the dull finish is pretty much gone. It is not polished. the dull finish is gone on most of it though.....
The price will dictate if we even consider the car. I will make sure the potental buyer is aware of what the ramifications might be.
      Thanks for the input though.
I have owned a lot of these cars over the years and seen a lot of strange things. If he buys it, I will post pictures and you will understand why I do not think it is a big of an issue as you might think it is. If the rivets are the correct size for sure.

          Thanks Steve,
I have pictures of hundreds of trim tags on my computer. I have been at this game for a long time. I needed the actual measurements. I actually looked in the local paper for a mid year for sale. I measured the rivets on that car for sale and determined that the rivets on the car we were thinking about buying were fine.
We ended up buying the car.

Thanks for trying to help though.
