68 - 69 TIM&JG, 3rd Edition, pg 50: "In mid-1969, the box shield was reinforced and two additional screws were added on the passenger side in front of the wing nuts. These are oval-head, black-oxide. Prior to this modification, the area had only three spot-weld sites."

IMHO, this does not make it clear that the design changed from two-piece to three-piece and that the spot-welds have been replaced by the screws.

I'll narrow it down further by saying that your car (3704) came down the line later in the afternoon than mine (3676) and mine has 2 piece shielding with the ground clip rivited up for my L68 with no A/C.

Oh, and Floyd, I've been looking for an original 3 piece shield for my '70 for about 3 years now without even a sniff. The only ones that I've seen are the two piece reproductions.
