Is there any way to remove the ignition switch assembly from the lower dash if key is lost?
    Thanks,
    G

George, I am not aware of any way to remove the cylinder without the Key, But my advice is to stop by a locksmith shop if you have one locally and ask him his advice, I have seen them work wonders with lost keys.maybe bring the lock cylinder with you.

If the locks are original, you can get the code from the door lock cylinder

          George,

Some locksmiths have special sets of GM keys called "tryout" keys that have non-typical key cut depths (half-way between regular cuts). There are usually 64 keys per set of tryout keys and those 64 keys are supposed to open more than 75% of the locks for a given year. Tryout keys sets cost several hundred dollars per set and there are 8 tryout keys sets for the letter key years. So you need to find someone with a tryout key set for the C letter keys.

            Dick,

At some point during the C3 years I believe the key codes were no longer stamped into the door lock cylinders.

                George,

I'm dying to know. How did the locksmith remove it?

Also, the price of $20 is amazing. No way any locksmith in my area of Silicon Valley would come close to that price.
