63 shifter problem on Munci 4 speed

The shifter on my April-built 63 has apparently broken the pin that fixes the shift handle to the pivot. Is this something that can be replaced with the shifter in the car? If not, do I have to remove the trans to get the shifter out?

Mike, The shifter can be removed while trans is in car. not sure about the pin, But its not likely as there really is not much access room with boot and plate out of the way. You can always give it a try

Michael do you know if your shifter uses the same pin that was used in a 1963 Chevy Impala SS with factory 4-speed?
