Re: Water entering cabin during wash

In the late 70s when I was painting my '63 coupe, I must have removed 2 or 3 pounds of caulking material from the driver's side wiper area. First time I washed the car after paint, I had a puddle. Three or four years later, I found the original owner - a then retired USAF B-52 pilot. I asked if he remembered any particular problems with the car; one was that the vehicle didn't launch well, even with 4.11s; that was solved by an FI adjustment by Dyno Don Nicholson at a dealership in GA; the other problem was a water leak on the driver's side....5 different dealers kept adding caulk until it finally got filled.

Leaking was a GM feature! Mine stopped when I added a little caulk between the bird cage and fiberglass in 72. Since I nor my passenger have had wet feet.

Old post however an older problem, this time the pictures loaded up. The first is the area of interest from the top side showing the gap between the bird cage and fiberglass. The second is looking from inside the car where one can add caulk, the yellow stuff.
Both sides have the same problem, good luck.
