From The Sports Car Journal, 1958 Sebring;

A real mixed bag. Salvadori in the Aston DBR1 is hardly visible as he cuts through traffic. Number 3 is the 4.6 liter Corvette SR2 of Pabst and Jeffords, which only lasted 27 laps. The Bueb/Sanderson D-Type was gone 5 laps earlier, while the Constantine/Dalton Aston Martin DB2/4 was gone at 15 laps.

Ron Flockhart in the D-Type shared with Masten Gregory was another early Jaguar retirement.

Very interesting I have been searching for pictures of a 1968 convertible with Star Wars paint scheme. If anyone has knowledge of a 68 raced in Florida with Star Wars paint would appricate the information.

Steve, thanks for the information but that's not the one I'm looking for. I purchased a 68 427/435 convertible last year, after talking with previous owners I have gotten back to the third owner. After talking with her I have the name of the second owner but have not been able to contact him. The first owner by information received from the third owner purchased the car in Louisville Kentucky and raced it in Florida. When she received the car it had flaired fenders with a Star Wars paint scheme on it. She keep it for a few years and sold it. The fourth owner had it repainted blue and I'm the fifth owner.
I'm still trying to make contact with the second owner who lives in Traverse City Mi. the third and fourth owners also live in Michigan.

Many of us will know who the Corvette in the first picture belonged to. If I think real hard, I may recall when the photo was taken -- it was an NCRS event.

He was a character, alright.
