    NOS GM 454 pistons LS-5

Are 454 LS-5 pistons still available from GM any more? What if any parts are still available for LS-5 engines any more from GM

    Lyndon-----

LS-5 pistons have been discontinued by GM for over 30 years.

So, what's still available? Very little. Things like head bolts, engine bearings, flywheel, timing set parts, and a few other odds-and-ends are about it.

      Thanks Joe

Would that chain be better than a after market chain? Could you post what the number is for the flywheel.
And can one still get a balancer for the LS-5 from GM any more

The GM timing set uses a nylon/aluminum cam sprocket and Morse-type chain. I use and recommend only Cloyes True Roller sets. The flywheel is GM #3993827. A balancer is also still available but not under the original part number. However, this balancer is very similar to the original except that it is powder-coated black. It is GM #10216339.
