    54 neutral safty swith lead

Is this lead routed over top of the tranny and fastened to what? There is what appears to be a wire holder on right side of tranny by dip stick Thanks as always, getting ready for body drop soon.

if its like my 57 powerglide, and i believe the wire routes like the 57, then it goews back to the tranny X-member where it turns to the drivers side, then routes foreward to the switch. my 54 isn't handy to check it out, but i think, and think is the key here, that its like the 57 PG. to view the 57 PG neutral safty switch routing, get a 56-7 assembly manual. good luck, mike

        Guy
it passes along the front side of the trans crossmember
there are two clips that hold it to the crossmember
then it goes up the trans tunnel - passenger side
there should be three clips (i think) that hold the wire up to the safety switch

Thanks Chris, Im curious as to the clips at the cross member, do they just clip in place or fasten to the member bolts. I dont recall seeing anything there when I dieassembled. Those rivited clips under the tunnel must be for the wire? Thanks as usual, I want this to get torn out while driving.

on the trans crossmember - there are two holes
there are two clips that go in the hole
one clip on the LH side
one clip on the RH side
The black wire goes in this clip
The clips on the trans tunnel are riveted in - they are on the RH side.
The wire goes in those clips on its way up to the relay
