    Jack,

Last I heard, Bob is semi-retired. He did my carb a few years ago.

Re: 69 tri power carb rebuild

I've sent carbs to a number of places over the years, some slow, some with varying colors, most seemed to run right. I've even tried the Holley in house shop once. I've settled on All American Carb in Jacksonville, Fla. Their coloring is VERY consistent, never seeming too dark from fresh chemicals in the vat. (they say they change 'em out in stages to keep consistency). I've never had a problem with anything they did and the quantities are probably in the 20's now, actually more counting ones for other people's cars. The nice thing about them is they are a husband/wife/son in law team and you can get the person on the phone who does the work. As a company they are very responsive and lightening fast. I just got one back for my LS6 Chevelle and it looks absolutely new. They had it about 2 weeks, but were a little unusually slow because of the rush from Daytona, where they always have a booth. They also do NCRS Kissimmee in Jan. every year and that's where I originally met them. Highly recommend.

Computers can be misleading as to colors, but on my screen the tri power shown above looks a tad too gold and the Camaro carb not quite enough. All American's coloring has always been near perfect for everything they've done on my stuff.

      Their website is www.allamericancarburetor.com

Edit: Here's a picture of the All American one. This was a VERY ROUGH old core that I bought for the numbers at Daytona in late November that was missing major parts. Like I said, computer colors will fool you. Apparently the background colors of the kitchen at my office made it look greener than actual. Looking at the actual carb this green tint isn't visible. The coloring as always seems perfect to my old eyes.
