Feb. 64 voltage regulator mounting holes

    Hi Everyone,
When did they change the mounting location for the voltage regulator in 64 with no A/C from the radiator support to the fender skirt? My car was a February 64 built car and there are no holes in the fender skirt. I was getting a bit confused when I wanted to order mounting hardware for the regulator and the suppliers are selling fender skirt mounting hardware for the 64, The Judging Guide states Rad. support mount. Does anyone have any info on the correct location of the holes on the support for the volt. regulator and the horn relay? My support seems to have extra holes that someone may have made in the past.

Jaime, my March 64 Coupe still has the voltage regulator and horn relay on the radiator support, no holes ever in the fender skirt etc. Vin 13708, St Louis built car.

Drove the 64 over 5000 miles to three Regionals and the San Jose National, one dust storm and 40 lbs of bugs!

And here's where another March 1964 was mounted. Know that page of the AIM always bother me too! However note it has a date of 4/8/64 when it got revised. So you will need to look at the 63AIM for the placement.

        Jaime,

My January 18, 1964 built Corvette with a 327/300 and non a/c has the voltage regulator and horn relay mounted in the same locations on the radiator support as Alan's.

Ditto my December 13, 1963 car. I beieve there is 1 extra hole in the radiator support, oval in shape, approximately 1" x 3/4", with flaired circumference toward the engine compartment, like it was pressed through the sheet metal rather than drilled. Other than that hole there are three mounting holes for the voltage regulator and horn relay.
