Scott, Thanks for the pictures Timothy thanks for the information about your early 67 september 66 production corvette. Since you have the plastic fasteners, I have the plastic fasteners and Russ has them in his March 66 vette, I think there is a strong likelihood that in the beginning of the 67 production year the were still using the plastic fasteners for the side door auxialry rubber.

      Neal,

It seems that's the case, and if the plastic version (GM 4841194) was used for all of 1966 and into early 1967, then the 66JG is incorrect on this point. I checked both part numbers in the P&A's, and for whatever it's worth, the GM 4841194 is listed exclusively for the 1964 Corvette side door auxiliary weatherstrip, in the 1964 thru 1972 catalogs. Other makes and models used this part, but for Corvettes, only 1964 is shown. Another GM catalog describes it as "nylon - nail type", and another gives the dimension of 11/32".

The GM 4653672 metal push-in rivet first appears in the October 1966 printing of the 1967 P&A as being applicable to the side door auxiliary weatherstrip (Group 10.695), and is listed as applicable for 1966-1967 Corvette, even though the GM 4841194 was still available for many years.

        Scott,
As always thank you for your thoughtful analysis.
I am going to reinstall the GM 4841194 plastic fasteners.

          Scott,
Just a short update on the number of screws used to attach the weatherstrip to the door opening hinge pillar on my 67. I had previously said that I only had 2 screws and did not find a third hole. I was wrong. The third screw was missing from both weatherstrips and the hole for each of the screws had been filled in/covered over. Not sure when this would have happened or why.
