Need advise on 65 Vette Speedo and odometer

My 65 Coupe has 66 327 Corvette engine and 4 speed. Not sure if 4 speed is 65 or 66 but appears original. All the rest of the car appears to be original. The Speedo is about 8-10% generous in reading on a constant basis and when parked is not a zero but about 10mph below zero. Do not know if anyone can understand or help but would really appreciate it. Seems that if needle was on zero the Speedo would be about correct , or at least up to any highway speeds we would use.

Also Odo I assume is not working as we are not showing any miles increase as we drive. Is this a Speedo problem or a gear problem in the gearbox or any ideas?

Sounds like it's time to pull the speedo and send it out to be recalibrated. As for the odometer, they can fix that at the same time.

Agree with Terry time to recondition speedo. Gearbox should be ok. You may also need to change speedo gear in trans tailshaft to match rear ratio. You can google this info and there have been several how to articles in the "Restorer" over the past years.
