Re: 63 Z06 on eBAY
Seller is Wade Isom in Jacksonville Florida. I ashamed to say, I've personally dealt with this guy. Not an honest guy at all. If he sees a way to cheat you, he will. Do your research on him.
Google Wade's Corvette Shop in Jacksonville and read reviews. Also, contact the better business and check the courts for the judgements on him. Good luck.Last edited by Irby G.; November 25, 2011, 08:37 AM.- Top

Re: 63 Z06 on eBAY
In comparing the two photos of the area around the power brake/air intake (one from the ebay listing and the other from the Z06 article), it appears as though the intake boot is just poorly installed. The air filter installations look the same. Also, the ebay picture shows a 90 degree fitting (check valve??) on the booster which dictates a different route for the vacuum hose (not the best).
The owners name does not ring a bell. Perhaps the car has changed ownership since I last saw it in 2008. Also, the fellow I met seemed to be a straight shooter NCRS long time member. But, character pre-judgement has never been my strong suit.

Re: 63 Z06 on eBAY
Years ago Eric G. in FL had a car like this that needed a front end or at least significant front end repair. The original engine was out of the car and in New York and an airline pilot then purchased the car from him; Sam M. This was in the 80's. I know because I thought about purchasing the car from Sam but we never reached a monetary agreement. Loren you should remember this!
I know for sure that the current owner advertising this Z06 on ebay owns this car, I just don't know if this is the same car on ebay or 1 of the other 2. I do know that is was a silver car.
Before I opened my mouth and "slammed" the car I would do some more research. If this is the car it is the real deal a be it it needs some "refreshing".

Re: 63 Z06 on eBAY
Thanks for all the comments guys.
To summarize, even in this market, this is not a high price for a real Z06, but there certainly are enough concerns about the car to raise a bunch of red flags.
There are obvious restoration issues, (with the number of concerns visible in the pics, I can't imagine not having to re-restore it) The cost of the type of restoration required for a car of this type would bring its net cost into the realm of price a proper Z06 should fetch. Given that, I think there'd have to be some pretty definitive evidence of its entire history before one would consider it. But, maybe I'm missing something.
Thanks, again,Mike

Re: 63 Z06 on eBAY
His story would just incite anther frenzy of the NCRS bashing that they love so much over there. At least there is no NCRS bashing on their C6 forums.[/quote]
hey Terry not on the C5 site either. some may knock the "other site" but there is a wealth of info on C5's which may be years if ever before it shows up here. I go there every day for the C5 traffic and the south west regional info
I would suspect some other NCRS types 'Lurk" in the background of that "other" site

[I go for the C6 Forums Carl -- for the same reasons you go for the C5. It is not all bad over there so long as one recognizes that numbers and dates don't mean much to others.
The few times I have looked at the C3 forums though I have found little to interest me, but that is me. Others may find them more to their liking.Terry- Top

Re: 63 Z06 on eBAY
That was my point earlier on in this thread.
Can it simply be a mistake with the trim tag from the factory? Or...??
To further add to the list:
8,800 - Silver/Red Body# 4,878
8,802 - Silver/Black Body# 4,879 (Z06)
8,803 - Red/Red Body# 4,880
8,856 - Red/Black Body# 4,911
8,860 - Red/Red Body# 4,913
Jim, are you saying that Silver Coupe #8,915 is a Z06?

Re: 63 Z06 on eBAY
There has ALWAYS been a problem with '63 body #s; VIN 21513 carries CPE body #11036 and only 10594 were built; CV #21496 carries body #11024 and only 10919 were built.
Looking at the #s, it's clear that ONE of the mistakes happened in the last 300 cars, but OTHERS happened before that. I have VIN 16259, a CV, with body #7941 and 16260, a CPE, with body #8444 - If you take the TRIM tags as GOSPEL, #16260 SHOULD BE #16485.
But that was before St Louis started restoring cars.......- Top

Re: 63 Z06 on eBAY
The trim tag looks legit IMHO so there must have been some kind of delay/mistake ect at the factory......no?
I had a silver 63/fi coupe in the late 80's early 90's that had no build date
even on the trim tag...- Top

Richard, you say
"The trim tag looks legit IMHO so there must have been some kind of delay/mistake ect at the factory......no?"
I agree it appears to be a real trim tag. Story I have is the car was inspected in 2007.......and may have been blue at one time.
And yes Syd, 8915 is a Z0-6 tanker.....with window sticker and original driveline. One owner until 2005. Stored since the 70's and never restored.Over 80 Corvettes of fun ! Love Rochester Fuel Injection 57-65 cars. Love CORVETTE RACE CARS
