I've spoken to John about the delay and it's still happening. These delays are really becoming a pain!

Considering how few people on this site are using these social sites, how about removing these icons until the problem can be resolved.

I don't have a problem with these sites being accessable from the TDB, but I'm having a real problem with these delays!!!!!

For the life of me, I cannot see any delays in page opening. Other than the every now and then slow loading of the site, I cannot tell any difference. I am using Chrome, I click on a post and usually before I can get my finger off the keyboard, the thread is open.

I get the delays also. Some times it is frustrating. Never had them before the icons were added.

I have also noticed the delays. The page opens quickly, but you need to wait for the icons to load. It usually takes at least 15 - 20 seconds longer. If I try to jump to the first new post before they load, I usual end up on the reply page.

I access the board from three devices, two computers and an iPad. Both computers are running IE 8 and one of them has an i7 processor. The iPad is the least affect device.

I am like PapaSmurf - NO noticeable delays and I am using Firefox 8

Please report browser and version when you are reporting delays so we can better analyse what might be causing the issue...

Firefox 8.0 running on Windows 7 64 bit. Difference in load time with Adblock plus turned on/off ~5 seconds.

Just tested with IE8 and no noticeable difference in speed here in NL... I did found and resolved an unknown to me script error though which I removed (originating from previous experiments to get the smart phone application TapaTalk working for this forum).

BTW I use Google Chrome since the last 3 months since it is so much faster than previously used browsers (especially Firefox was getting very slow due to memory leaking problems in the previous version)!

Explorer 8. It took 20 seconds to load this page. I tried Google Chrome last month and did'nt like it so I removed it.

Paul, I just checked using IE-8. Took less than one second. Try clearing your cookies and run a utility like CCleaner. You may have a little spyware running in the background.

would agree with PapaSmurf that most people who are reporting problems need to ensure they have cleaned cookies, etc. for optimization of their browsers - believe most of the problems people have with pages loading are caused by not paying attention

It would be interesting if anyone with slow load times to try and report other browsers brands load times to narrow down the issue a bit. Please also report you ISP to see if there is a relation between the reported delays and the used internet service provider...

Every bit of information might help for us to work on a solution for this problem...

I have noticed the problem on IE8 across three computers and two service providers. One of the access points is work related with plenty of bandwidth and fiber optics.

I also notice the problem on an iPad running Safari.

All the computers run virus and spyware protection and are relatively clean. I also do net experience the problem on any other site.

The best response is from the iPad, which surprised me being that one of the computers is a fast machine.
