    paint chip repair

Anyone used the "Langka technology" product sold by various vendors for paint chip repair? It's supposed to smooth the touchup paint "blob" level with the rest of paint by rubbing the supplied liquid on the touch up blob you've built up.I've got a small, about 1/8"by 1/8' chip to repair on a lacquer white '67.
    Thanks,
    Bill Ford

Here is an excellent thread on key/paint chip repair.

Key Repair-Step by Step Procedure I was contacted by a member on L2D for a referral for his sister in law for a scratch repair. The car was a medium gray Corolla and had been keyed heavily down 2 doors. I quoted her a price sight unseen. She called the day before to say it had been hit on...

        Hi Bill and Tony,
I have used Dr. ColorChip to repair small chips and scrathes on my Rally Red paint. I think the product works very well and it is easy to use. If you don't get the chip filled completely the first time, you can go back and hit it again with a second application. I work it until it is very close to even with the adjacent paint, and then after letting it cure for a couple weeks, finish it off with some light compound and wax. You just have to be patient and take it slow to get it looking decent.

        Good luck,
        Roger

I have the Lankga stuff (used on my Black Rose Metalic 92), it's OK for small chips (like your 1/8th) but I'm not that impressed with it when used on scratches. I would think the DR. ColorChip would be close to the same technology. I'd like to try Dr. first hand but,I went back to doing something close to Bill's link especially using a toothpic instead of a brush. What Roger said about patience, filling it more than once, letting it cure than compounding - yep.
That small chip in white laquer should be fairly easy to fix.
