    ...sounds like you have a "high volume", "high presure" oil pump, when all you need for most OE small blocks is a standard volume, standard pressure pump. The only exception is late '63 and later mechanical lifter engines, which have standard volume, high pressure pumps.

    Too high oil pressure is always the pump, not the oil viscosity grade.
