John, The '65 NHRA finals was a memorable day in my life. I worked the starting line that day after working until 2 or 3 am the previous morning helping set up the timing clocks. It was only about 130 degrees or so on the starting line. I got to witness a fuel car split the right side of the block as they brought up the rpms and I also shut down Creitz because of an oil leak. Seems that the drain plug had not been tighten. It was a great experience and a lot to add to my memory.
