70 Coupe shoulder belt removal?

Is there a trick to get the black rubber/plastic off of the belt buckle? I've used a hair dryer, the plastic gets soft, but doesn't stretch enough to get over the buckle.
Trying to get the belt out of the seat.

Even when heated it still takes quite a bit of force to get the buckle out. You might have to heat it several time as you force buckle through the narrowest point of the boot.

Mike, I have boiled some water and put in a coffee cup and let it sit for about 30-45 Sec.s and have removed. will not damage.
