    1967 rear stabilizer bar

Was there an application where a small block would have had a rear stabilizer bar?

    Thanks

        Lawrence,

Not in '67, but yes in '64 and '65.

What about that short window of time in the '67 model year, when St.Louis ran out of small block hoods, .........and installed big block hoods on small bock cars?

Gary -- not sure about 1964, but the only way to get a rear stabilizer bar on a '65 was to order L78. Didn't matter if F40 or std. suspension, the rear bar was the same 9/16" dia.

              Wayne,

In '65 couldn't one get the rear bar with the L-84 engine option?

                Gary -

Nope - only a larger front bar.

                  Gary------

Until 1975 the rear sway bar was not part of any small block engine option or any suspension option. It was part of all big block engine options from 1965 through 1974. All bars were 9/16"

Beginning with the 1975 model year, it became part of the FE-7 suspension option but was a different bar than that used with 65-74 big blocks. The FE-7 rear bar was about 7/16"

FYI: The '75 and later FE-7 front bar got a lot bigger too, which kept a proper handling balance.
