    Maintenance free batteries

What kind of life can I expect from a "Restoration Battery" - maintenance free battery. I have had it for about 5 years but it has had very little use. When not in use I had it on a "Battery Tender" trickle charger. However, and it is big however, for two years it was not any type of charge.

I am going to put it o a trickle charge tomorrow evening and hopefully it will charge up and hold a charge.

Any thoughts on what I should expect?

If it does charge up should I expect it hold the charge?

I know these are hypothetical questions, but your thoughts will be appreciated.

    Jerome,
Check the voltage with a volt meter. If not at least 12+ volts I do not have much hope for it.

No loss to try the charge, but use low amp charge rate.

6 years and still working for mine. It took me to the National at Novi and back this year in my 72. I'm pleased.

Mine gets charged 2-3 times a year. Every time I stick it back on the trickle charger it's at "Full" in 15-30 minutes. So, I see little benefit in leaving it connected full time.
I do keep my battery disconnected between uses.

Your battery will not take a trickle charge. Needs to be charged every two or three months at 10amp. ( no more ) charge for two hours.

          Mine takes it just fine.
