Re: 1967 Vette 427 400 Hp With Factory
Steve,
I put factory air in my 67 435/427 car back in 1971.
The obvious is the left side battery
The radiator support will work both ways but the AC didn't have the crossbars.
Look at the right frame and see if the battery mount nuts are still in the frame.
It was not an easy job.
I am doing a frame up and had to corectly mount the battery which meant the modification of the left fenderwell.
I also had to install the riv-nuts in the left frame to mount the correct battery box.
The battery box holes are on both sides of the frame, they only put the riv-nuts on the side the battery was to be on.
It should be easy to tell if it was a AC car because the riv-nuts should still in the right frame. I doubt that they would take the riv-nuts out and forget the dash.
Also the pulleys were different.
I had to do all this right on the frame up as I just made it work back in 1971.
I was going to install a switch on the end carb that would turn the compressor off when the carb opened BUT decided to do what we did back then when there was a challenge " turn the AC off".

MYSTERY SOLVED -- It is a Canadian import car, shipping date 17th Feb. Original poster Steve, (and previous person who entered the C2 registry info.) mis-typed the VIN. It's 194377S110983 (not 100983). Or at least it should be. All the other C2 registry info checks with the GM Canada monthly import microfiche.
Sorry Steve; it wasn't originally factory air, nor 400hp. Dealer 81124 is in the Vancouver BC area.Last edited by Wayne M.; October 4, 2011, 02:16 PM.- Top
