Morning, I searched for correct cable markings but came up empty. On 68's march build should there just be a P and an N on the top side besides the spring ring words for correct cable heads ? thanks in advanse. Jeff

Re: 1968 Spring Ring Battery Cables
Jeff,
I recently sold a pair of NOS GM # 2978482 spring ring ground (negative) cables (30" long) for various 64-70 Pontiac models according to my 1971 Pontiac Parts Catalog.
The spring ring part was "embossed" with the following: "SPRING", "RING", and "GM" (see photo). The black cable had "DELCO PACKARD - IT30" printed in white.
The flap on one of the boxes was dated "3-69" (March 1969).
These cables were service cables and were not necessarily the same as the factory installed cables. I have an original spring ring cable from a 1965 Chevrolet 396 but it looks like it went through a war.

Re: 1968 Spring Ring Battery Cables
On my April built car the cable only has a P and N on the side with the spring ring text. The text is on the round barrel of head.

Re: 1968 Spring Ring Battery Cables
Thank you, David and John. Great help. Question for John. On the negative cable do you have 5070 in white ink around 8" from the head ?68 L79 Convertible: Triple Black: Work In Progress, Body off. Now on!
