What a sad day. John was truly one of the finest people I've ever met. We have lost a great man. My sympathies go out to the family.

John Sr. was a real gentleman, and dedicated to every task he took on. We all will miss him, but none more so than his beloved family. My condolences to them.

            I never met John Perkle.
So I don't know his family, except I know they are greving.
When I would talk with him on the phone, it was like talking with my Dad.
Direct, honest, and helpful and with that southern drawl that I grew up with.
We should all try to be more like him.
            Rest in peace, John

Will miss chating with John. He was always accessible at the various meets and shows where our paths crossed. I still have the original wiper blades on my car that I bought from him in Chicago many years ago. He was a fellow trouper and I salute him.

I only talked to him a couple times. But it only took that to make this sad news. As others have said a gentleman and really nice guy.

Met him at Corvettes at Carlisle and spoke with him on the phone several times, a true gentleman.

He told me stories about Vietnam, piloting the helicopter at 3000 ft and when the vietnamese changed to armored piercing bullets the pilots had to fly at 5000ft because the bullets would come through the floor at the old altitude. Quite a hot seat to say the least..

My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.. RIP John Pirkle Sr.
