    3855858 Pipe Asm.
This part number I have not found in any of the AIMs, and I did not see it in any of the P&As. I suspect it is a Production Only part number for the small block high performance fuel line from the Carburetor to the Fuel Pump, without external fuel filter.

If so, I think the GM Service Replacement p/n is 3882837. This part number is applicable for 1966-1968 Corvette w/Sp. H/Per. (327).

    Is this correct?
Must be another P&A error - that line works for '66-'67 L-79's (both had Holleys with the same downward-facing primary fuel bowl inlet), but it won't work for a '68 - they had Q-Jets.

      John,

      I forgot about the Quadra-jets.

      The 1967 and 1968 P&A's both say:

      66-67 CORVETTE w/Sp. H/Per. (327) . . . . . . carb. gas (chrome) . . . . . . 3882837

It is not until the 1969 P&A that the error begins:
      66-68 CORVETTE w/Sp. H/Per. (327) . . . . . . carb. gas (chrome) . . . . . . 3882837

I suspect this CHROME fuel line is going to be another bone of contention with the Judges:

      1967 JG:
"All fuel lines are hot tin dipped formed steel. All metal lines have cadmium dichromate plated steel hex-head male fittings on each end of the line. The main fuel line has a 45 degree bend at the fuel pump end. A one piece hot tin-dipped formed steel line runs from the fuel pump to the carburetor, with cadmium dichromate hex male fittings on each end. The use of Teflon tape is incorrect." (p. 79)

The 1966 fuel lines were chrome: "The fuel pump to carburetor line and fittings are chrome plated" (1966 JG, p. 114).

Is there a different carb-to-fuel pump line for 1967 that is hot tin dipped formed steel that will fit between the L79 carburetor and the 6440083 fuel pump? Or do I put the chrome carb-to-pump line on a 1967 L79 (and/or C60) Corvette with the 6440083 fuel pump?
