I am trying to find a detailed reference document that shows exploded views of the 1960 cast iron Powerglide so I don't have to ask so many questions. Anyone have a source?
A steady stream of drips run out of the side of the rear extension; through the speedometer connection and the car has not been started in a month. I removed the speedo cable and the steel bullet-shaped part (don't know the correct name of the part) that is male threaded on the outside and is hollow in the center for the plastic speedo gear to spin. I replaced the o-ring on the bullet, but I believe the ATF may be coming through the "annular" space between the plastic gear and the steel gear holder for lack of the correct part name.
Is this possible and if so would it alleviate the problem to purchase a new plastic speedo gear?
