What d'ya call those figure 8 shaped bolt heads?

The one I'm talkin' about is what holds the metering block on a side inlet Holley or in this case the inner door handle bolts on some straight axle Corvettes. I stopped a tool truck this week and asked the guy and he didn't know what I was talkin' about, so I drew him a picture. He said his granddad called 'em buggerheads, but he didn't have any idea where to find a tip that'd fit 'em. Buggerhead search on the internet didn't help.

Sounds like you're talking about clutch head bolts and screws. Clutch head screwdrivers are available at Sears.

You can also make your own using bolts and grinding down the sides. The bolt will fit a socket set.

Some of the clutch head screws, especially some of those used on Holley carbs, use an uncommon-size clutch head driver. I don't know if Sears has those. Snap-On might.

TRU-VALUE Hardware stores sell 2 or 3 different size clutch-head screwdrivers. Very good quality screwdrivers and relatively low price (compared to Snap-On)

They fit the Holley carbs........that's why I purchased them.

Is there such a thing as a "male" clutch head??? Trico vacuum windshield wiper motors of the mid-fifties used special screws which I`ve heard were called male" clutch heads. I`ve been unable to find a source for these special Trico screws.

                    Chuck,

There's a clutch head winged type "security screw" that has raised edges. Used on locks, etc. that are not supposed to be easily removed.
