It's not as clear as it might be --but those 2 views are in agreement.

What's throwing you off on the lower view: the dashed line from the bolt does not go thru the upper right hole on the compressor flange. Look close. It jogs down and goes thru the lower left flange hole.
Which is what the top view is showing.

The clip is also held in place by the front "pivot bolt".

So it's the pivot bolt and the lower/left flange bolt which is longer to accept the lockwasher and nut, as shown.

        John,

I have a related problem with a '67. My bracket appears to be mounted correctly, but the 2 heater hoses fit tight enough that they are rubbing the compressor pulley.......can you post pics of how yours turned out?

        Thanks, Bob

Just did my 65 and if it is twisted or too long it will be more apt to collapse or crink. Good Luck, Mike

will do...but secret seems to be the positioning of the metal tube that is attached to one of the hoses. If your car is similar to the 64...the location of the metal tube is what we were missing...when it's just right it all fits and has clearance from the pully and belts...will send pics tomorrow. Thanks, JFL

              Thanks John,

'67s' don't use the metal tube.

What happened is the metal hanger (under the AC compressor that supports the heater hoses) was installed wrong.

It caused the heater hose to rub against the AC pulley. Looking at the AIM in greater detail, I see how this goes now......my goof.

              Thanks for your help.
