Re: '66 427/425 How often should Solid Lifters be Adjusted
When I checked the CSM for frequency I could not find it, so I adjust when they start to clatter a little bit. I have been having to do a couple of mine a little to frequently for my taste so I will be changing all of the rocker arm nuts next time around to see if that helps. Some nuts definately feel a little loose.- Top

Duke, I have looked at all of my CSM's and do not find anything that states how often or how many miles etc.. I would assume I need to do a valve adjustment everytime I do a tune up! I have put about 500 miles on the car since I purchased last fall. The engine has about 3,900 miles sinse a complet rebuild. The valves sound like they are clatering a slight bit. This is my first Corvette with solid lifters. Please let me know what you reccomend.- Top

The 1963 Corvette Shop manual calls for a valve lash check every 12K miles.
That should work for you if you set them properly using my recommended lash (.020/.022") and the procedure for small blocks written up my John Hinckley and me that you can find at:
