Bill Wilhelm's initial post on this thread recounts an example of where the OPs people were not informed in a timely manner that the side pipes were an issue, so this scenario clearly happens and I've experienced the same situation as a chassis judge. I've also experienced the situation where the chassis teams found the added side pipes and we told the Exterior team who had to go back and redo their judging sheets and then review the Exterior sheets a 2nd time with the owner.
These problems do happen and they suggest better coordination among the 3 relevant teams and the team leader.
