I wanted to know how much work is involved in adding tilt and a telescoping steering wheel to the car? Or can it be added at all?

It's basically a bolt-in installation. All you need is the complete steering column. However, that will be the problem; finding a good used column. The GM column is long-since discontinued. Any 1969-75 Corvette column will work. However, there are minor differences between the columns over the years for things like stalks and levers. Functionally as a unit, they're all interchangeable, though. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Kim, when you find a telescopic steering column and you want to use your same ignition key let me know. I have rebuilt hundreds of these steering columns and I can help you with the ignition cylinder change.- Top
