Re: Are the words "Truck" and "Pass" on a 4351, 427 Block
Right, I just re-assembled a rebuilt 351 4-bolt 435hp and it had HI-PERF TRUCK PASS in the same area you speak of at the rear of the block.
edit.....just found a picture when I was test fitting stuff before it went in the bay. You can barely make it out, it's at about 1 o'clock at the edge of the flywheel.
edit.....I enlarged the area.

Re: Are the words "Truck" and "Pass" on a 4351, 427 Block
One more shot, to prove that these 3 designations were even found on 2-bolt 396's (961 block), at least in May of 1965 (E-14-5).
Note the casting "PASS" on the top RH exterior surface. According to the '65 TIM&JG, this typically changed to "HI PERF" on 3855962 4-bolt Corvette blocks cast in months E and F (or to end of '65 BB production). I don't know whether the 2-bolt 961's also changed later, but doesn't really matter for purposes of NCRS.Attached Files- Top
