I'm installing new carpet in my 65 convertible that i purchased from AL-KNOCK, i did a lot of reading on this forum before attempting this project i received some very helpful advice that made this job go alot smoother, i have finished with the bulkhead, wheelhousing, in luggage storage area. I'm ready to install my two front pieces i need some help on how to cut carpet for seat rails, your help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

Re: 1965 Roadster Carpet Installation
Brenton,
I just went through the same thing on a '67 convertible. I found several threads in the archives about the seat rails for '65's, which are different from '67's.
I used this string in my search(except 7 for the 5)...... "1965 carpet" seat cut
I got quite a few posts about how and where to cut and placement of the rail plates, i.e. over or under the carpets, etc.

Re: 1965 Roadster Carpet Installation
FYI;
One other area to be concerned about is the drive side near where the accelerator bracket comes through just above the console. I recently had a computer failure and most carpet pictures were lost so I can not remember how the 65 was cut in that area. Perhaps your search shows it however I know for 64 the carpet needs to be trimmed in said area.- Top

Photos below are the original carpet removed from a '66; I think the cutouts are the same as '65. If you look closely you can see the "flaps" at the front of each track.- Top

Re: 1965 Roadster Carpet Installation
Was able to recover some of my carpet pictures, so here is the gas pedal area I was concerned with (note its for a 64, not sure how 65 was done)
And one for a 65, note my 66 pictures are basically the same as John's however it appears that 65 were different.- Top
