just to introduce myself
live in iowa and have owned 4166 for about 35 years!
have only put about 5k miles on it during this time.
on other forums; wwii jeeps, j3 cubs, etc.
i usually am called 'iowa'
had the exterior redone in 2001,
and am in the process of detailing my engine compartment
so will have a few Q's in the near future.
will also post a few pictures along the way
i was a member many years ago.

Please tell us more about your car.

What engine (1x4, 2x4), transmission (3 speed, powerglide), etc.

I have two 56s at the moment, and I am so fed up with one year only parts that I would gladly trade one of the 56s for an equivalent 57.

has a 283 with 1x4
has a '63 4spd trannie
rest is original

i plan to use the Assembly Manual
and the NCRS judging manaul
to do this engine compartment!

hmmmm........
i think i found the source of the antifreeze leak!!
a big crack on the motor mount bracket.
is it fixable?

also, here is a picture of the fuel pump i removed
during this 'engine bay freshing up'
it looks to be a different year than the 56's
what year is it?
is it worth anything?
