Another vendor with a poor attitude?

As we restore our cars we have experienced less than desirable parts quality, marginal attitudes and questionable service from various vendors. Some better…..some worse. I had the opportunity to visit the Crowley Corvette web site, found a very useful article under the “How to” section….convertible top removal and installation. The tutorial was very insightful however the images supplied were too small to see detail. I contacted Crowley Corvette and asked could they email images from the article to me. Possibly this person was busy when I called but it was apparent he didn’t want to help as he stated (paraphrase) “the posting is a free service and he had to make a living”…basically stating he was busy and didn’t want to help. That’s unfortunate as I am a supporter of vendors who have helped me or others. How you ask, through purchases or the mentioning of their name as someone who has performed well, shows a good attitude or sells quality products. Am I mad or crying foul…..nope…just calling it the way it was dealt. Mr. Vendor, if you’re going supply information anticipate questions and support your process. Won’t be using Crowley Corvette anytime soon.

Michael, I get phone calls all day long. Here is my approach on the more complicated answers. "Sir I am really tied up at the moment but if you would give me your phone number I will gladly call you back later so I can sit down and help you with the problem".
Not bragging but I don't get a complaint when I tell the caller this. They seem to understand.
As we all get older if we don't share our knowledge then when we are gone it's gone too. JD

I agree with John. Besides, you really don't have a right to b!tch when you're asking for something for FREE.

Jim, call what you want. If your not going to support the process pull it. Busy....I understand. Give me a call back....no problem. He offered no options. Free is good only if it serves the purpose. The tutorial was great, images were just too small to see detail. Images will more often speak louder than words. All I asked was for some help, he wasn't interested.

I have to agree with others, I don't think you have a complaint, just a bitch, company under no obligation to give you (at their cost) pictures because you don't like the size they post on the site. Company probably glad you are not dealing with them...my 2 cents.

You're right Michael, not complaining......nor mad. We didn't get far enough into the conversation to determine if there would be a charge to send images.

                Hey....sometimes I'm glad I don't have to deal w/me.

I spoke with him last year on a car and he was struggling to run his business and take care of his wife (who was quite sick at the time).
No excuses, just a "perhaps" as to why the "brush-off".

In the time it took to blow off the caller he could have told him how to save or enlarge the pictures and left the prospective customer with a good feeling about his business. Any time someone takes the time to pick up the phone and call your business he is a prospective customer with $$ in his hand even if he doesn't buy anything this time. Don't cut him off short. There are too many other places for him to take his money.
