    Yes, and I've pulled out one or two that had three cuts in the hex...

    I know I don't know the origin of these marks. I thought it had something to do with the mfgr's tooling & assy process.

    I tend to doubt it's a means of identifying the supplier as a cast/embossed stamp would be as easy and more in line with fastener industry norms...

        Jerry, if you look close you can see both of your fittings have faint notches, I see one in each, I dont think I have ever seen the small one without a small notch..........John
