    C1 Battery J Bolts

    Hi,

is there any difference in the battery hold down J Bolts (J-bolts) used in C1 Corvettes? Are the JBolts used in 58-60 the same as in 61-62 for instance?

I couldn't find anything in the archives and don't really want to buy every judging guide to answer the question :P
    I have a 59.

    Thanks!

I believe there is a difference. The 58 thru 60 had a loop or U shape on the bottom. the 61 and 62 was more like a check or a 110 degree bend.

        Paul is most likely correct.

OK so in other words they look like the repro bolts in 61/62...

              Ian,

As far as I am aware, the fishhook j-bolts were not actually used and are nearly impossible to get on. Attached is a pic of what I believe is an original j-bolt from my '60. It's not a fishhook for sure, but it's not a kink, either, being rounded. It's about 1/4 inch shorter than the repros, the repros being longer for easy installation.

                Ian,

Well I just found out that editing doesn't include adding a pic! And each time I try to add it now, I get an error message. So, I'm going to try putting it on a new post.
