correct freeze plugs, different depths? no markings

A freeze plug is leaking on my c4 might as well replace it with a correct one with no markings. Found some on corvette central but the depth looks different that the depth on the ones summit racing brings up for my car? is it the picture or is the corvette central ones really shallow and incorrect depth like that.

also corvette centrals say 57-82? will they not work with a 95 350? surely they will.

here is pics of the depth differences.

Yeah wasn't sure if it was just the picture or what. Wish I knew what was on the car but it's in storage. I seem to remember it being deeper looking more like he sumit racing ones but can't be sure.

Use brass ones. The steel ones will corrode and then leak. Giant PITA. Don't ask me how I know.

thanks, I went to LICS but I noticed they didn't offer one for the 350 just 327, are those the same size? I think they're just making sure. Also can anyone tell me about the depth? are the shallow like corvette centrals or deeper? they only have a pdf format online catalog.

Received my no marked freeze plugs from corvette central but they're not near as deep as whats on it..

does anyone sell the deep steel ones with no markings? not going to use the corvette central ones.

I bought some deep, no-logo, brass freeze plugs based on a tip by someone on the DB some years ago. The company Crespin, or something close to that, comes to mind, but I could be mis-remembering the name and/or spelling. Maybe check the archives.

I think a complete set for a Chevy small block, inc. S&H was something like $35, so not cheap.

buy the correct depth ones with the stamping and fill in the stamping with body putty and the paint will cover

I could do that but surely someone makes the deep ones without any markings.

just wanted to see if anyone knew of somewhere that did thanks for the tips

                          Brandon,

I know for a fact that one can get the deep ones w/o logos in brass. I'll check my notes when I get home from work tonight.

                            Brandon,

                            Here you go:

                            Cresap Automotive Machine
                            631 N Mechanic St
                            Cumberland, MD 21502
                            (800) 850-8794

The cost is $2.95 per plug + S&H; about $34 total for a set of eight.

Unfortunately, I can't remember who to thank on the DB who first told me of this vendor.
