Re: Zinc in Rotella T
Call me a "Doubting Thomas" but every time this topic comes up I spend a little time searching for some specific info to the oil in question, in this case Rotella T4. In the past I've had no luck in finding a report on oil additive content or a document outlining exactly what the API CK-4 spec means in terms of additive content that is required to be in an oil; EX: Zinc.
I did find this from The Petroleum Institute of America. Their analysis does indicate zinc content along with quite a bit of other data. Is this considered a reliable source? If it is then I think a lot of the discussion about zinc levels may be put to rest.
Hoe this helps the topic.
