1964 -4-speed transmission part

Is the 3rd and 4th gear shifter shaft and detent plate part readily available today? My threaded end has a portion broken off but just enough thread for the nut. Thanks in advance

The GM piece, GM #3831709, was discontinued without supercession in September, 1983. However, I think these are available in the aftermarket now. I'd check with Larry Fischer. If there's one available, he'll have it. If not, he'll be able to sell you a good used piece.

Jack -- there's always some on eBay. Here's a link to a '63-68 fine threaded stud type. Same shaft for 1-2 or 3-4 shift. If you troll a while, you might even come across a complete '707' sidecover with both shafts and the detent cams [scissors] and spring for a reasonable price.
