Reflection from the flash on the camera. No white outline around any of the letters on the actual part.

After working on my 67 for 2 days, I am surprised how bad this looks. However, I can not see how the silver around the mark could be warn off, at least on my 67.

I guess I will go clean the door jam!

I'll tell you if the one I have were put next to the other one pictured on a door, in the same light they would look identical. This is a circa 1966-68 part,
but I can't date it as it came from an assembly plant, and I forget what year.

Hi Bill,

I was just reading one of the Restorer articles about the 1978 Pace Car decals, and they describe the backing of the Pace Car decals as having "3M film paper and had the 3M Scotchcal logo".

That has me wondering what the back side of your NOS GM "Mark of Excellence" emblems look like, do you have any pictures of the back side you could post?

Tan glossy paper backing, no logo of any type. This one was well prior to '78, most likely 68-70 vintage.
