1967 blue "GM Mark of Excellence" door emblems - anyone have pictures of originals?

I have found a few Threads about the "GM Mark of Excellence" emblem in the archives, including one post that apparently showed pictures of the emblem and the glue around the area of the emblem (Tom Dingman's picture), but the Thread was old enough (Feb. 2004) that the pictures are no longer there.

Does anyone have pictures of known originals on a '67?

Doug and James, thanks very much for the quick replies and the pictures, they are very helpful, good to see the detail and the contours up close.

One of the posts in the archives referred to what seemed to be a sort of sloppy application of glue by the factory (weatherstrip glue, maybe?), does anyone have pictures of original GM Mark of Excellence emblems on the door itself?

          Scott -

The emblems were self-adhesive; we peeled the liner paper off the back, which exposed the adhesive, and applied them to the door. There was no plant-applied adhesive or glue. See the Assembly Manual, UPC 1 Doors, sheet K8.

            Scott,

Don't laugh at the condition of the door jambs, but I believe they have not been touched since the factory on my 67 convertible. AO Smith car.

If you assume that a factory worker just hastily slapped them on, the positions are correct.

Thank you John, I found the emblem you referenced on 1Doors/K8 - no separate adhesive applied

Great pictures Jerry, thank you very much, and the condition of your door jambs looks great to me. I would not laugh even if they were in need of repair - I have only appreciation and good things to say about these cars

Thank you Bill, great picture, very interesting. There appears to be a thin shiny (or white?) outline around the letters in "Mark of Excellence" on your example. Is that a raised feature that might wear off with time, or is it just printed that way? I can't tell for sure whether the other examples have this outline feature, or whether yours just shows up more clearly.

There is a raised surface at the transition between the blue and the silver border. The raised area is in the silver boarder, if that is what you are referring to. It is about as high as the "GM" letters. I don't think it would wear off.

I thought it might be difficult to explain, I'll try with a side-by-side comparison in the attached picture.

I have seen some reference to 1967 as being turquoise and 68 & up being blue. Does this apply to Corvette?

After working on my 67 for 2 days, I am surprised how bad this looks. However, I can not see how the silver around the mark could be warn off, at least on my 67.

I guess I will go clean the door jam!

Reflection from the flash on the camera. No white outline around any of the letters on the actual part.
