Production line large TR's start in 69. I also have seen at least 4-5 different TR sizes. I also have several examples of the backwards TR which seams to be a solid axle era. Lastly I have many backwards L timing chain fover bolts!

          Doug and Rich,

A couple of years ago I bought this guy out of as many '60s period bolts he had that were in good to excellent shape. Really enjoyed picking through and separating them back home. What a shocker to find 2 excellent black phosphate backwards TR bolts among them. They both measure: 5/16-18 x 3/4" grade 2.

Same size as midyear headlight support rods etc...

Doug, is yours the same size?

          Mike

Rich, thanks for jumping in here with what you have seen, it is nearly what I expected as there were more of these large TR's I found in the "fasteners box" for motors in this early C3 time frame. With the grease on them, I am sure they came off these motors.
Mike the head light support brace part is 122007, you can see many a post on that part number. You have the spec down correct, but head mark on four 1966 original cars througout the year was RSC.

spec on the 122007 is zinc or cad but I expect for as poorly as they lasted the supplier was using zinc.
