Yep, the screw at the bottom of the shift plate is correct. I hav emy 2 originals and bought extras and plates in the 60's.
Bruce, the FI looks great. It will be a blast to drive.

Adam,
I think you are correct about the wheel weights, they should be on the inside.
But what the heck, the new owner only paid $374,000.00 for the car, you can't expect it to be perfect....- Top

Hey, Hey, Hey,
Don't be doggin f-----s. If they are not responding you must not be using the proper technique.
This is probably not what you are looking for but they are missing none the less. On photo 4 and 9 the vinyl covers that attach to snaps to cover up the space between the back of the seats and the deck lid are truly missing.Valeria Hutchinson

Valeria,
Excellent observation but not totally correct.
The vinyl convertible top tab on the passenger side is in place.
Hopefully the drivers side one is stuck under the deck lid.
I find it interesting to examine a car like this airbox car and get lots of different opinions.

Re: Can You Find The Missing Part on This '57?
I recall the generator brace was in place when the engine was painted orange, then at a later date they switched to black because it wasn't bolted on to the engine before paint, therefore black.
The reason they switched to not installing the brace before paint was a good reason.......I recall reading somewhere that the brace would get in the way of the engine hoist and in general was always getting hit, so it came off.

Re: Can You Find The Missing Part on This '57?
Dana,
I believe the freah air hose you are referring to is for cooling air for the rear brakes.
I am not sure if the hose bracket like you and I have for heater fresh air was used on the heavy duty brake option.
My assembly manual is in the garage and I'll check later.

Re: Can You Find The Missing Part on This '57?
I couldn't wait so here is what the 57 AIM shows.
Both the fresh air hose for the heater and for brake cooling air in RPO684 both use the same support bracket part number 3136859 (the 8 might be a 6).
The location is not specified for the heater fresh air hose but there are dimensions in the AIM for the brake cooling hose.
So I would say you are correct, the bracket is missing on the airbox car.- Top
