Shouldn't the Generator bracket be semi gloss BLACK ?

    Dana -

Yes, it should be black; although it was assembled at Flint V-8 at the beginning of 1955, the brace was re-allocated to St. Louis (as shown in the Assembly Manual) in March, 1955 due to chronic shipping damage. The brace on passenger car V-8's remained as engine plant-installed, and was pushed over to the passenger side of the engine out of the way; the Corvette brace couldn't be pushed out of the way, as it was trapped in the slot in the front engine mount bracket.

Both the fresh air hose for the heater and for brake cooling air in RPO684 both use the same support bracket part number 3136859 (the 8 might be a 6).
The location is not specified for the heater fresh air hose but there are dimensions in the AIM for the brake cooling hose.
So I would say you are correct, the bracket is missing on the airbox car.
Would the bracket on this Air Car be more correct ?

        Dana,
According to the 57 AIM the bracket on the Legendary car is not the standard GM bracket.
I saw the car at the Mecum auction at Indy last year and I had some questions about it. Kevin McKay was there and he explained that the car was restored to the configuration it was raced in during the 1960s. Note that it has a newer radiator (possibly a 61 0r 62 Corvette) and it also has a 62 expansion tank.
The car has some modifications from the original 57 Airrbox design.
