Nice pictures Dan. Yours looks almost the same as mine, with the exception of the clip on the front. I'll have to get my wife to help me load my pictures as they are on her camera and there is a gazillion to scroll through right now. My shield is certifiable by me as original as I was there when it was picked up at the dealer in 63. Mine also has a clip on the rear which engages the tach drive cable nut. There are two positions for these clips, i.e. one for L-76 and the other for an L-84 (fuelie), and the clips are different. Your front one looks more like a fuelie clip. Mine is just "U" shaped with the jagged ends facing the air filter.
I see your manifold boss is correct in that it is NOT drilled and tapped like so many we see.
