    C2 Cluster Paint

Quick question..... Does anyone know a source for the black paint used on C2 instrument clusters? I have some scratches which I would like to clean up....

    Thanks,

    Joel

    Joel,
I used the old Krylon #1613 or the now "Industrial Krylon 1613" (it will it say it on the can). I have touched up my dash a few times from where the keys scratched it, perfect match - undetectable. My car is a 66.

Joel, I used a Dupli-Color semi flat. Results were "ok". I see Zip has a item that is available. Not certain if it's "typical".

p.p.s if you decide to change the lenses while you're in there.......be certain they are "concave"(valleys) not "convex"(hills). Guess what I did twice! Kudos to Timothy Barbieri then for reminding me.

Theres only one paint that will give you a factory trim finish and is designed to be applied without primer and will stick to chrome finishes and resists chipping.

        SEM trim black 39143

Don't waste time and money on others. Do a google search on (SEM trim black 39143) you will find what you need.

I agree. I've used Krylon #1613 on several cars. It's a perfect match to the original paint, covers well and holds up great.

            Mike,
That is a bold statement! I've used Krylon 1613 on three mid-years including mine over ten years ago and have had no problem with durability or adhesion without a primer.

Well, I am a bold guy!

Krylon is good stuff. They have the best spray can nozzle in the biz. My comment wasn't about how bad the Krylon is. Just how good the SEM is.

IMHO The SEM Trim Black is better.
