The shroud probably is a little glossy, I will go check my AIM for the cooler info.

The Judging guide says approx #6500, so I would imagine that's January or February.
Ok, thanks Tim. A friend with a December car asked on the cooler but I wasn't sure when it actually went into production. He needs a new/replacement shroud and support so it sounds like he should look for these items that do not have the hole or cutout.

      Mike,

In my 63 AIM, the revision record at the page bottom states 11-14-62 released. So I guess my car should not have the hole, #31xx.

There are special nuts in the support for the oil cooler bracket, my question is are these nuts on all core supports, manual and automatic after they started the oil cooler holes. If not then my support came from an auto car.

If the AIM date is 14 Nov 62, I suppose it's very possible that a December 62 build could have had both the notched shroud and support with the flanged hole.

I would guess that the nuts for the cooler would be on all supports but that's just a guess. I don't remember. Are they easily installed later or would the support have to be assembled with the nuts?
I've never seen a separate part number for a support to be used with PowerGlide.

Looks like some sort of a rivnut and I would think they could be installed with the auto oil cooler parts. It's called out in the AIM as special nut, maybe others will answer the question.

I would think you would only see the nuts in a car that had an automatic trans. Without the cooler there would just be a couple of holes on the lower radiatior support. If there is nothing attached to the nuts they would just fall out as they are not mechanically attached to the support a bolt passes through and holds the assembly together.

Bob, you are correct. I just dug out the 63 AIM and looked in the M35 Powerglide cooler section. The drawing shows that two holes are to be drilled in the support lower rail and two 3769099 nuts are to be installed. This operation would have been done at the St Louis plant.

Those two holes for the Rivnuts were incorporated in all radiator support lower rails at the stamping plant from '64-up.
