Thanks Gents. Believe it or not it took several years to find several of the correct components that were changed by previous owners. Starter, solenoid, balancer and heads are a few examples.

Brian, as far as I know the base engine, which was essentially a passenger car engine, never had them.

Harry, First class job. Course you are a detail man for sure.
I wonder if the gang here realizes that the 250HP base engines had NO valve cover decals.
Michael Hanson has pointed this out to us. So far on one has been able to come up with any documention to dispute the fact that the 63 to 65 250 HPs had no decals.

I bought a new 65 with base engine with AC around July of 65. No use looking it up as to where it came from though as the next owner drove it off a bridge.
Meanwhile the engine had no 250 HP decals.

Harry, I agree. I've been trying find some proof that a 250 HP valve cover decal existed for 63 Corvette for several years but so far, I've only come up with documentation that it DIDN'T. I've also learned that it wasn't used on 64 or 65 Corvette either.

By the way, the engine looks great !!
