    Leaving the Concord National Meet

As I live in Charlotte, I attended and volunteered for the National meet in July. It was really hot but most survived the heat with H2O.

As I and my husband were present with "Bella" trying to get out of the z-max as soon as possible we both noted MANY cars leaving the area early. Before it was allowed!!!

I was just wondering if there was a sanction applied to these degenerates as was applied to Roy Braazt?

Please don't try to apply logic and fairness into a subject debate that seems have neither.

Or notice that the last post on the subject was, I think, pulled.

At least I couldn't find it again.

I agree, the "Roy" post of earlier this week got yanked and I couldn't find it either.

Nice we live in a society that allows no freedom of the press! Really is amazing how stupid the NCRS must think its' members are!

I also was following that post and it just (poof) disappeared.

Something must be presented for members displaying their Corvettes that drive them there to the meet and have no other car for transportation. The bus thing is not an option for most.

As I recall, NO ONE, moved there cars before a verbal release. I happened to have my car sitting just outside the lifts were it was being used as the subject of Terry's class. I could have easily driven away from the field without harm but was instructed to wait until the judges were off the floor! As soon as the word was given all hell broke lose from the skies above and many owners didn't make it to there trailers without getting soaked!

This thread I hope goes into the trash can along with the previous, RB thread and in the future, enough about the members suspension!

One more word, if the "rules" are broken by older members and then bending them, exactly what does it teach us newer guys?

Guys, I have been an NCRS member since 1978. The Corvette I am currently restoring, I have owned since 1967. I have only conversed with Roy Braatz via email and this list. Seeing what has happened to him has left a sour taste with me and as a result I probably won't have my car judged at any NCRS event. I will try to build it to NCRS standards but not have it judged. I understand the need for safety first at these meets but don't let the penalty go overboard for an infraction of the rules. I believe this whole business has really hurt our group in more ways than one. Brooks Glover (2141)

The 13 month suspension is not something new, hidden or unusual- it's well advertised and has been applied in the past to other members under similar circumstances.

What's new and has REALLY done damage is a member choosing to air his dirty laundry on an unrelated 3rd party website. What happened between him and the NCRS BoD is none our own personal business- either here or on CF.

To misquote Shakespeare- The member doth protest too much, methinks.

Mike is right. There is a lot of the story (on both sides) that we don't know, or have any business knowing. It is between Roy and NCRS.

This has been hashed/rehashed, but the point is still being missed. There is no argument regarding 13 month suspension from NCRS judging events. Clearly documented, no argument. I've yet to have anyone say how a discussion forum equates to an NCRS judging event. That's the stink in my opinion. Banning Roy from daily discussion punishes the rest of us that value his opinions and contributions.

It's our business because many of us are truly missing Roy's contribution here and feel like we are the ones being punished. Banish Roy from judged events all you want, that's what the rules say, I'm fine with that and agree I don't know the whole story regarding the judging violation and punishment. The banishment from discussion is a whole nother kettle of fish that does affect me.
